We are a facilitator, not a scrapyard. We verify your ownership documents and connect you with authorised scrapping partners — then manage pricing, paperwork and pickup for you.
The Honest Version
Step 1
Type, condition and location — through the form or a quick call. Photos help but aren't mandatory. We use this to shortlist the right partners in your city.
1Step 2
RC book and ID proof are checked to confirm you are the genuine owner. This is done before any partner is involved — protecting both sides from the start.
2Step 3
Based on vehicle type, condition and location we approach the right authorised partners in our network and negotiate the best quote we can get you. You are not passed to whoever responds first.
3Step 4
Once you accept the price, the partner arranges free doorstep pickup at a time that suits you — along with on-the-spot documentation (Form 35, de-registration support) and same-day payment.
4Step 5
Dismantling and recycling is carried out by the authorised RVSF under environmental and regulatory standards. We coordinate and follow up until your Certificate of Deposit is issued and your paperwork is fully closed.
5To be clear: Scrap My Vehicle coordinates and oversees every step above. The physical scrapping and dismantling is carried out by our authorised RVSF partner facility, not by us. You get a single point of contact for the entire journey.
Two-Sided Verification
RC book, ID and ownership are confirmed before we approach any partner. This keeps stolen, disputed or misrepresented vehicles out of the network — which is exactly why genuine owners get taken seriously and quoted fairly.
Registration and authorisation, environmental compliance, and past pricing behaviour are checked before we route a single vehicle. An unregistered yard cannot buy through us.
You avoid being lowballed by an unknown dealer, you avoid paperwork that leaves the vehicle in your name, and you get proof that the vehicle was recycled legally. That is the reason to use a verified middleman instead of walking into a random scrapyard.
Cars
Almost any four-wheeler can be scrapped through our partner network, whatever shape it is in today.
Car owners get full RC deregistration support, including Form 35 where a hypothecation entry is still on the RC, so the vehicle stops being your legal responsibility once it is scrapped.
Paperwork
Our team and the partner facility take care of the scrap certificate, dismantling proof, chassis-number defacement records and RTO deregistration support. Once the deregistration is filed and confirmed, the vehicle is no longer registered to you — so you are not liable for it, its taxes, or how anyone else might have used it.
If anything is missing on your side — lost RC, pending dues, an old hypothecation entry — we will tell you what is needed before quoting, not after pickup.

Real Customers. Real Results.
"My 2004 sedan had been standing under a cover for four years. They checked my RC and ID first, then came back with a quote the same evening. Pickup was next morning and the money hit my account before the car was loaded."
"After an accident the insurance write-off left me with a car nobody wanted. Scrap My Vehicle found a registered partner, handled the Form 35 part and sent me the scrap certificate by courier."
"Two local scrap dealers quoted me a throwaway price. The quote here was clearly higher and, more importantly, they explained exactly which facility the car was going to."
"I was worried about the car being misused after sale. They walked me through the deregistration process and I got dismantling proof within a week. Very reassuring."
"Old hatchback, no running condition, tyres flat. Free pickup with a flatbed, no hidden towing charge, instant UPI payment. Took less than 24 hours from my first call."
"Straightforward people. They told me upfront they don't scrap the car themselves and that a partner facility does it. That honesty is why I went ahead."
FAQ
If your question is not listed here, send us a WhatsApp message — our team responds within a few hours.
The core documents required are your RC Book (Registration Certificate) and a government-issued ID — Aadhaar, PAN or Passport — that matches the name on the RC. If your car had a loan, you will also need Form 35 from your lender confirming no outstanding dues. An insurance copy is helpful but optional.
Our team will guide you through every document step by step — you won't need to figure it out on your own.
From the moment you share your car's details, we aim to give you a confirmed quote within 24 hours. Pickup is then arranged at a time that suits you — usually within 2 to 4 working days. Payment is processed after the pickup is completed and documents are in order, typically within the same day or the next business day.
The full Certificate of Deposit from the RVSF follows after the vehicle is officially de-registered — this can take a few additional days as it involves the RTO.
Yes, absolutely. A non-running car, one with a seized engine, or one that has not moved in years is perfectly eligible for scrapping through our network. We arrange a tow vehicle for pickup — there is no cost to you for transport.
The scrap value will be assessed based on the car's weight, the condition of recoverable parts, and the prevailing scrap metal rate. A non-running car still has meaningful scrap value.
The price depends mainly on your car's kerb weight (heavier cars yield more), the condition of reusable parts like the engine, gearbox, AC compressor and battery, and the scrap metal market rate on the day of assessment. We share a detailed inspection report before pickup so there are no surprises.
The confirmed quote we provide is the amount you receive — we do not reduce it at the point of pickup without a documented reason.
The Certificate of Deposit (CoD) is an official document issued by the Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) after your car has been processed. It is required under India's Vehicle Scrappage Policy (MoRTH) and is critical for two reasons.
First, it legally clears you of any future liability attached to the vehicle — challans, accidents, or misuse. Second, in many states it is required to claim a road tax rebate on your next vehicle purchase. Our team follows up with the RVSF until your CoD is issued and delivered to you.
Yes, but you will need Form 35 from your lender — this is a No Objection Certificate (NOC) confirming that the outstanding loan has been cleared or that the lender consents to the scrapping. Without this, the RTO will not process the de-registration.
If you have already cleared the loan but the hypothecation has not been removed from the RC, we can advise on getting that resolved first. It is a straightforward process and our team will walk you through it.
